Remembering Together Service

On Saturday 17 September a special service will take place here at the Cathedral. Our Remembering Together service is for all who have experienced the death of a child, whatever their age and whatever the cause.

This is an annual service of readings, music and prayer. All are welcome, from all faiths or none. The services starts at 3.00 pm,

Clergy and health professionals work together to offer this service in response to an awareness that people often try to deal with these sorts of issues on their own, when in fact there are many ways to gain support and help.

Canon Matthew Vernon, who looks after pastoral matters at the Cathedral, says, “This service offers people the time and space to be together with others who have suffered a similar experience, whether recent or in the past. We hope to provide support and comfort at this moment, while acknowledging that the sense of bereavement may continue for the rest of their lives.”
