Baptisms at St Edmundsbury Cathedral

Baptism (or Christening as you may also know it) is the start of a journey of faith for your child and a chance to celebrate that with your family and friends. As a parent, it’s a commitment to the journey you’ll take as a family. You can, of course, also be baptised as an adult.

Baptisms are part of the everyday life of the Cathedral and there is no fee. It also means they take place during our usual pattern of services and are therefore not private events. We encourage a welcoming and laidback atmosphere that the whole family can enjoy.
