Holy Week

This Holy Week we welcome David Ford OBE, Regius Professor of Divinity Emeritus in the University of Cambridge as our Holy Week speaker. He will join us for The Mass of the Last Supper on Thursday 28 March at 7.00 pm and Good Friday Meditation at 12.00 pm.


Special services and events this week include: 10.30 am Choral Eucharist on Palm Sunday 24 March which will include the Palm Sunday Procession and Reading of the Passion. Later that day, we welcome Facade Ensemble who will perform their reflective concert ‘Lux’ at 5.00 pm.


Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 March there will be a service of Compline each day at 7.00 pm.

On Maundy Thursday, 28 March, our Chrism Eucharist will take place at 11.00 am with The Mass of the Last Supper at 7.00 pm.


Good Friday will see the Churches Together Walk of Witness at 10.30 am followed by a 12.00 pm Meditation. At 2.00 pm we’ll hold the Good Friday Liturgy, including the Veneration of the Cross. At 4.00 pm there will be a Children’s Service where we invite families to join us.


Easter Day, Sunday 31 March starts early with a 6.00 am Candlelit Easter Vigil led by Bishop Martin. Do stay on for breakfast afterwards in Pilgrims’ Kitchen. Cost is £10.25 per person. Please book by Sunday 24 March with our Cathedral wardens or speak to Canon Philip. The Vigil is followed by our 8.00 am, 9.00 and 10.30 am Sunday services, with a Festal Evensong rounding up Holy Week at 3.30 pm.
