In The Dark
Described as “a show that redefines the live music experience”, “one of those gigs I will take to my grave” and “the panacea the world needs right now”, in the dark is a secret sound experience in total darkness where musicians perform live around the audience in full, un-amplified 360° sound. The set list is a secret and revealed to you as you leave – like Dans le Noir except here the art is music, not food. No phones. No distractions. No being watched, and no watching. Instead, an hour to completely tune out, and completely tune in. Because when you take sight away, the sound becomes everything.
in the dark is a 70 minute sound experience created by Bury-born musician Andrea Cockerton, that started in Cambridge, has gone on to be an acclaimed success in London, and is about to embark on a UK tour. For this one-off performance, the professional musicians from London join forces with the original Cambridge performers – We Are Sound. Together around 80 performers will take the audience on a sonic journey performed fully live and in total darkness.
All ticket holders are provided with sleep masks for the show, to take home afterwards, and don’t worry if you get a little claustrophobic – there’s a tiny bit of natural light coming into the space.
Two sessions: 6.45 pm and 8.45 pm. Find out more and book here.
