East Anglian Artists’ Exhibition

St Edmundsbury Cathedral is delighted to welcome back the East Anglian Artists’ exhibition from Friday 13 to Friday 20 August. This has been a regular fixture in the Cathedral’s diary for over forty years until the pandemic forced the postponement of the event last year.

This year, 37 artists, all local, will display their art in an exhibition within the main body of the Cathedral building. As well as paintings in a range of media, there will be cards and unframed prints to view and purchase.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm (except Sunday when it will open after the morning services).

All artwork is for sale with the profits being shared between the artists and the Friends of the Cathedral. The Friends, founded in 1942, is an independent charity. Its object is to support the Chapter in its work by adding to the fabric and beauty of the cathedral.

Over the years, the funds raised through the East Anglia Artists’ exhibition have contributed in excess of £40,000, which has enabled the Friends to support projects such as the West End furnishings, Bishops and Deans’ stone and new Altar frontal and dossal for the Lady Chapel.
