Special Service at the Cathedral for Bury Drop In

On Sunday 8 October at 4.30 pm a special service will take place at the Cathedral to celebrate the ongoing work of Bury Drop In amongst the homeless and vulnerably housed. The service, led by the Dean Joe and the chair of the Bury Drop In Trustees, will include prayers to remember the lives of those who have died in the past year from the Bury Drop In community.

Bury Drop In is a Christian Charity, supported broadly by churches across the town and sustained by numerous local businesses, volunteers and organisations, including West Suffolk Council and Bury Town Council, that exists to care for and serve the homeless and vulnerably housed in Bury St. Edmunds.

The Rev’d Robert Green, chair of trustees at Bury Drop In, says, “It is really important to Bury Drop In that we are part of a wider community’s response to a deepening crisis of homelessness and housing. Churches, businesses, our local council, the agencies we work with, volunteers and so many supporters make this vital work as special as it is. We are grateful for our relationship with St Edmundsbury Cathedral who are hosting the service on 8 October at 4.30 pm as we celebrate Bury Drop In as an expression of the compassion of God.”

The service will include music, readings and prayer. The service is open to all. Please RSVP to info@burydropin.org
