Bury St Edmunds Pride 2026

Pride events take place in many towns and cities around the world and are an opportunity to highlight issues facing LGBTQ+ people and to celebrate the diversity of the community. In 2026, Bury St Edmunds Pride will be on Saturday 6 June.

The day kicks off at 11.00 am with a free, crafty banner making workshop on the Cathedral Garth (there will also have an indoor space if the weather is not kind). All are welcome, including families. Come and make a sign or just hang out in the peaceful surroundings of this beautiful Bury St Edmunds landmark, surrounded by love and creativity.

At 12.30 pm there will be a Pride procession from the Cathedral, making it’s way to the Theatre Royal, passing shops and businesses on the way.

From 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm there is a free entry marketplace event for all ages at the Theatre Royal. Following the success of this last year, there will be a range of community stalls and sellers, plus a yummy cake stall. The Theatre Royal bar will be open for hot and cold drinks.

During the community marketplace event, Kimberley Moore Music will be running a singing workshop at 2.00 pm. Kimberley is born and bred in Suffolk and is a singer, musician, composer, performer and workshop facilitator. All are welcome and no previous singing experience is required! The participants will learn a joyous song which they are invited to perform later to open our variety evening.

From 6.45pm doors open for the evening celebrations, starting at 7.45pm. Bury St Edmunds Pride and the Theatre Royal are pleased to present an evening of entertainment hosted by Jessie Coburn, from Brandon Pride, for the price of just £15 per ticket. The evening will open with a song performed by the participants of a Pride singing workshop earlier in the day and then prepare yourselves for Shar Cooterie and Sara Khasm.

The fun continues with a comedy set from award-winning comedian and writer Alice Frick. Alice  is currently captivating audiences with her seventh solo show, “Live Like A Criminal.” With a truly international career, Alice has performed stand-up across Austria, Germany, the United States, and Great Britain, and has made numerous television appearances in Germany and Austria.
