It is with great sadness that we announce the death this morning (29 December) of Bishop John Waine KCVO GCStJ, former bishop of this diocese and subsequently Bishop of Chelmsford.

His funeral will be at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, and will be held under the current Covid restriction regulations on Thursday 21 January at 12 noon.

Our prayers are with Pat and the family.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
