Summer Organ Festival: David Poulter

September 15, 2024 | 5:00 pm
St Edmundsbury Cathedral

David Poulter presents a programme of organ music entitled Te Deum. Including inspiring music from French composers Jean Langlais and Charles Tournemire, as well as the German Romantic composer Max Reger, this promises to be a fabulous way to conclude our series of organ recitals in 2024.

Free to attend, but please book here.

The recital starts at 5.00 pm and there will be a retiring collection.

David Poulter was born in Kent and educated at The Kings School, Rochester and at The Royal College of Music, London where he was a Foundation Scholar and Walford Davies prizewinner.

He was awarded the coveted Limpus and Frederick Shinn prizes at the Royal College of Organists and, in 2008, was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Guild of Church Musicians in recognition of his “great contribution to church music over many years”.

David was Assistant Organist at Rochester Cathedral and, successively, Director of Music at the Cathedrals of Coventry, Chester and Liverpool. Now, in retirement, he is Director of Church and Community Music at St Vigor’s, Fulbourn.
