Faith Forum

June 27, 2024 | 7:00 pm
St Edmundsbury Cathedral

Christians have a range of political views and are represented in all the major political parties. With only days to go to the General election, how does Faith inform and influence our social engagement and political thinking?

Chaired by the Dean, you are invited to this important forum to ask questions of our local Christian leaders about “Faith, Morality and Manifestos”.

The Panel:

  • Chairman: The Very Rev’d Joe Hawes, Dean of St Edmundsbury

  • Ms Imogen Senior: Head Teacher at St Benedict’s Roman Catholic School, Bury St Edmunds since 2019

  • The Rt Rev’d Tim Stevens: Bishop of Leicester from 1999 to 2015 and a member of the House of Lords and Convenor of the Lords Spiritual from 2009 to 2015

  • Revd Canon Jason Vinyard: East Anglia District Superintendent of The Bury St Edmunds Methodist Circuit. Ecumenical Canon St Edmundsbury Cathedral

  • Ms Sarah Friswell: Visitor Experience Manager at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Methodist and Chair of Trustees of Epworth Old Rectory, birthplace of John and Charles Wesley

  • The Revd Mother Ali Miller: Team Vicar of the Lark Valley and North Bury Team Benefice. Diocesan Advisor for Women in Ministry, writer and Spiritual Director

Although not a hustings event and not party political, only a few days away from a pivotal point in the life of our nation, come and hear what the Christian community might have to offer a divided and fractious political landscape?

This event will be held in the Edmund Room at St Edmundsbury Cathedral and is limited to 60 spaces. Please book by clicking here, or emailing Chris Eyden at chriseyden@stedscathedral.org or call 01284 748720.
