Well-known local author Martyn Taylor launches a new book, ‘Lost Bury St Edmunds’ on Saturday 16 November. Martyn, who is also Chairman of the Bury Society, will be available to sign copies of his new book in the Cathedral Shop from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
‘Lost Bury St Edmunds’ looks at how the town has changed and evolved since the beginning of the 20th century. Using photographs from this period, Martyn Taylor illustrates many of the shops, businesses, pubs and people that are no longer with us.
Martyn comments, ‘I hope that the book will evoke memories for residents and show visitors some of the changes to the community’.
The book costs £14.99.
The Cathedral Shop, situated on Angel Hill, alongside the main entrance to the Cathedral, is open 7 days a week and offers a range of unique gifts, souvenirs, books and greetings cards. At this time of the year it is the ideal place to purchase Advent candles and calendars and Christmas decorations.
