60 second snippet – The Nave

Although there has been a church on the site for much longer, the current Nave of St Edmundsbury Cathedral was started in 1503. It was completed in 1551 thanks to a donation from King Edward VI, who also endowed the town’s Grammar School.

There is so much to say about the Nave that we have split it into two 60 second snippets.

Listen to Part 1 here and scroll through the photos in the gallery (click on photos to enlarge).

Further information on the Nave will be available on Monday 1 June.
